The US Senate has voted down Bush's plan to drill in Alaska.

"We are just not going to allow Republicans to destroy the environment," Daschle told reporters.

This bums me out. I hate clean air and water. I was all pumped with Bush's pro-pollution plans. The skies are just too blue for me, the clouds too white, the water too clean.

Seriously, can any honest person really think that anyone wants to "destroy the environment"? This sounds like some pathetic storyline from Captain Planet.

It's such a great idea to keep ourselves bound to terrorist nations because we rely on them for oil. Because animals are more important than people. That's all I can figure.
