More Bee News

This site has moved to robert.williamsonline.us.

I called the beekeeper that came out to inspect the bees. He wasn't home, so I left a message but have not heard back. I also called the county health department, and they didn't know anything about it. So I had just about dismissed it. But then Leandra told me over the phone she saw 3 honey bees outside our house. I've rarely seen honey bees around here in my 27 years. So maybe it's not so crazy of a story after all.

I guess this is just one of those things that goes with living in a small town in a rural area. If this were a suburb of Dallas-Fort Worth (like, say, Flower Mound), we wouldn't have this trouble. But we also wouldn't have a pond (with all sorts of fish) on the next street, nor would we have a tiny farm with sheep just across the road. So it's a trade-off, I guess. Killer bees or killer kids, take your pick. To each his own.

In case anyone thinks the last paragraph is a bit strange, it's in response to the following email I got from a friend of mine who lives in Flower Mound and is always trying to talk us into moving there:
