Pedophile Priests

This site has moved to robert.williamsonline.us.

The pope says that pedophilia is a crime that has no place in the RCC.

The abuse which has caused this crisis is by every standard wrong and rightly considered a crime by society: it is also an appalling sin in the eyes of God.

Pedophilia is wrong? A crime? An appalling sin? Of course it is! How could he say otherwise? How can anyone even contemplate less than total condemnation of this?

The powerful and specific words by the Pope may determine whether the U.S. Church formulates policy to automatically hand over pedophile priests to civil authorities.

Why does the RCC need to "hand over" criminals? The police should arrest these priests, as well as the bishops and cardinals who help cover up their crimes. They should be hauled into criminal court and dealt with justly.

The Pope also appeared to attempt to cut short any possible talk of changes in the church's rule of priestly celibacy, which some have said might be open for discussion during the meetings.

Funny. Peter (who the RCC claims as the first pope), was married. See Matthew 8:14 and 1 Corinthians 9:5.
