God has really answered some prayers for my wife and I, and He did it all in the past couple of days.
We've been attending a small group Bible study for the past several weeks. We were running about 4 couples consistently. Only one of the couples was our age; the others all had children our age. One of the elders of the church was temporarily leading the group. We also were trying to make some friends, hopefully young families like us. We'd been praying about each of these areas.
All of a sudden, God started answering our prayers in rapid succession. Our church got a new pastor (the previous one was always intended to be a temporary, transitional situation and he was "on loan" from another church). The new pastor and his wife are just a couple of years older than Leandra and I. They have a daughter just 18 months older than our son. We have talked a bit with them and they seem great! We also met another woman at church who has a son the same age as Joshua is, and the two boys get along wonderfully.
Our small group suddenly added 3 more families (including 1 single guy), and one of the original couples is coming more consistently now. And on top of that, we have a permanent leader and his wife. One of the new families that is coming is also our age, with small children. So there are definite possibilities there to establish good Christian friendships.
It's always so exciting when God answers prayers!
