Friday marked my five year anniversary. Leandra is 2 1/2 weeks from her due date, so we were both unwilling to go even as far as Dallas. And she doesn't really feel like doing too much anyway.
We dropped Joshua (our 20-month old) off at my parents' house and headed for dinner and a movie. We ate at Golden Corral - it's a good place for pregnant ladies to eat. Then we headed for the theater to see the 7:30 showing of The Bourne Identity.
This would make the second movie we've seen in a theater in about 2 years (the other being Miss Congeneality). We got there early and got good seats in the back.
7:30 came and went. Then 7:45. Then 7:50. Then the manager came in and announced that the projector was broken and the show would not be playing. They gave us all rainchecks, but that was it. I suppose I could have complained and got something more to compensate us for our troubles, but I didn't figure it was worth it. I used to run the projectors at that very theater (about 8 years ago) and that stuff just happens sometimes.
We discussed trying to catch another show, but decided against it. We went back to my parents' house, talked to them for a while, then went home. Great anniversary - dinner at Golden Corral. Sigh.
