1. What is your current occupation? Is this what you chose to be doing at this point in your life? Why or why not?

I am a software engineer. This is my chosen occupation, because it pays well and I'm reasonably good at it. Admittedly, it's not the most personally satisfying career.

2. If time/talent/money were no object, what would your dream occupation be?

I've already wrestled with this question and have no clear answer. I'd like to be doing a job that I believed made the world a better place, even if it was only better for a few people.

3. What did/do your parents do for a living? Has this had any influence on your career choices?

My dad was an entrepenuer, now is a mid-level manager. One influence that had is I'm very leery of being my own boss because I saw how tough it was on him.

4. Have you ever had to choose between having a career and having a family?

No, but if I had to choose, I would always choose my family.

5. In your opinion, what is the easiest job in the world? What is the hardest? Why?

I haven't thought about what the easiest job is. I think corporate security guards have pretty easy jobs - at least the ones around here did. On the other hand, I know a guy who runs a gun store and indoor shooting range. All he does all day long is shoot guns, teach people to shoot, sell guns, and talk about guns. Seems pretty good to me.

As far as the hardest job, I'd have to say something like a surgeon, because it requires such skill and patience and has high stress.
