I recently made a post that could reasonably be construed as mildly poking fun at someone. It was honestly intended playfully, just a bit of inter-blog banter. But it wasn't taken that way, and the blame lies squarely with me for my insensitivity and carelessness. I've privately apologized and removed the offending post, but - as this was a public action on a public forum - I felt it was my Christian duty to also apologize publicly.
One modern day proverb that I try to live by is: "Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by stupidity." To which I should add "never underestimate the power or extent of human stupidity, especially mine."
